Perform a Bulk Export or Bulk Import

Multiple records can be exported or imported at once using CSV files. Bulk import actions can be used for adding new records and editing existing records.

PREREQUISITES:

  • You must have a numbering group set up. See Numbering Groups for more information.
  • You must define status codes. See Status Codes for more information.
  • You need at least one department. See Departments for more information.
  • You must define expiration types. See Expiration Types (Permit) for more information.
  • You may want to set up divisions, but this is not mandatory. See Divisions for more information.
  1. From the home page, click Permitting and click Case Types.
  2. On the Case Types panel, select the entry or entries you want to export data for.

If you don't make a selection, the CSV export file will include data for all records.

  1. Click Export CSV.

The CSV file downloads.

  1. From the home page, click Permitting and click Case Types.
  2. Download the CSV file(s) that contains the appropriate rows and columns for the import you want to perform.
  3. Edit the CSV file with the data you want to add or edit and save the file.
  4. Click Import CSV.

The import panel opens.

  1. Drag and drop a file into the file upload area, or click within the file upload area to browse and select a file.

After selecting a file, data from the file displays for review in the columns above the file upload area.

  1. Click Import.
