Configure Service Layers

The Service Layers tab is used to configure the services for the asset layers. Only asset types that are part of your domain are shown in this panel. If you are creating a new site, most of this tab is populated when you enter asset information in the GIS section of Admin.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Asset Groups must be configured under GIS > Asset Groups. See Configure Assets for more information.
  • An SOE service must be already defined for the SOE Service drop-down list to show in the Service Layers panel as new SOE services cannot be added in Admin.

NOTE: *-Background/Supportive GIS Layer- Not Configured for Asset Management indicates that the layer isn't defined as an asset in Trimble Unity but can still be used for service request questions and answers, as well as service request, work order, or inspection map layers.

  1. Click the Service Layers tab.
  2. For each asset layer, select the Service and Layer that you want it to resolve to.

NOTE: If an asset layer is going to be used to create GIS saved searches that are displayed as event layers in the apps, the asset layer must have both Service and Layer configured.

Filters on subtype entities can be edited in the Filter field. See Import GIS Service Assets for more information.

  1. To add a Background/Supportive GIS Layer, click Add record.

  1. Enter a name, select the Service and Layer, and click Add.
  2. To remove a GIS service layer, select it and click Delete.

NOTE: Your changes are automatically saved, and the changes are verified by a notification at the bottom of the page.
