Perform a Bulk Export or Bulk Import

Multiple records can be exported or imported at once using CSV files. Bulk import actions can be used for adding new records and editing existing records.

PREREQUISITES:

  • You must have a task set up. See Task Setup (Permit) for more information.
  • You must have the Inspection Time Blocks security functions enabled. See Security Roles for more information.
  1. From the home page, click Permitting then Inspection Time Blocks.
  2. On the Inspection Time Blocks panel, select the entry or entries you want to export data for.

If you don't make a selection, the CSV export file will include data for all records.

  1. Click Export CSV.
  2. Select the type of Inspection time block information you want to export.
  • Export Inspection Time Block includes general information about time blocks.
  • Export Inspection Time Block Details include details of that time block including any tasks.

  1. From the home page, click Permitting then Inspection Time Blocks.
  2. Download the CSV file(s) that contains the appropriate rows and columns for the import you want to perform.
  3. Edit the CSV file with the data you want to add or edit and save the file.
  4. Click Import CSV.
  5. Select the option that matches the content of your CSV file. You can choose from Import Inspection Time Block and Import Inspection Time Block Details.

The import panel opens.

  1. Drag and drop a file into the file upload area, or click within the file upload area to browse and select a file.

After selecting a file, data from the imported file displays for review in the columns above the file upload area.

  1. Click Import.
