Remove a Status Code
A status code may need to be removed from the system from time to time. Doing so must be done carefully or it could cause errors. This section discusses how to remove a status code safely.
IMPORTANT: While it is possible to remove a status code, we strongly discourage you from doing so. Removing a status code causes errors in any cases associated with that status code.
If a status code has not been associated to one or more cases, for example if the status code was configured incorrectly, you can remove it by following these steps:
- From the home page, click Permitting and click Status Codes.
TIP: You can filter the list of records displayed. See Filter Records for more information.
- On the Status Codes panel, select the status code you want to remove, then click Delete selected records.
- Click Delete on the Delete Status Code panel.
If one or more cases have already been created using the status code in question, follow these steps to mark the status code as deactivated:
- On the Status Codes panel, select the code you want to deactivate.
- On the Case Status panel, turn off Active.
NOTE: Your changes are automatically saved, and the changes are verified by a notification at the bottom of the page.
