Modify a Widget

You can modify an existing widget applied to a specific layout.

PREREQUISITES:

  • You must have the Public Site Admin check box selected in Admin. See Users in the Admin Guide for Trimble Unity Maintain and Trimble Unity Permit for more information.
  • A widget must be configured. See Add a Widget for more information.

IMPORTANT: Adding and configuring a widget is currently available for the Case Summary, Home, Login, Make Payment, and Attachments layouts.

  1. On the side menu, click Admin.
  2. Click the Layout tab.

  1. Select the page that has the widget you want to modify from the Layout drop-down list in the Profile panel.

Notice the Widget Slots panel populates with the containers or "areas" (for the selected layout) that has been enabled, by a Trimble Unity developer, and any configured widgets.

  1. Select the widget you want to modify.
  2. Click Edit Widget.

The Widget Configurator panel opens.

  1. Modify the widget as needed, such as the Widget Type, the Widget Name, or any code in the Typescript or CSS fields.

NOTE: Intellisense is available in the Typescript and CSS fields and allows you to easily create and complete your code.

  1. Click Save and click Close.
  2. Click Save Profile on the Profile panel to save changes to the profile.

The widget is updated.

  1. Select the page that has the widget you want to modify from the Layout drop-down list in the Profile panel.
  2. Find the widget in the Controls panel and select it.
  3. Click Configure Widget in the Control Details panel.

TIP: You can also double-click the widget placeholder, when using a desktop, to open the Widget Configurator panel.

The Widget Configurator panel opens.

  1. Modify the widget as needed, such as the Widget Type, the Widget Name, or any code in the Typescript or CSS fields.

NOTE: Intellisense is available in the Typescript and CSS fields and allows you to easily create and complete your code.

  1. Click Save and click Close.
  2. Click Save Profile on the Profile panel to save changes to the profile.

The widget is updated.
