Printing Fields

The following fields are found on the Printing map tool on one of the three tabs: Layout, Map only, and Exports.

• Title: This is the name of the exported file.
• Template: Select how the page is setup for printing, such as letter, landscape, or portrait, etc.
• Show print area: Select to show the area on the map that will be printed.
• File Format: Select a format to export the file as or use when printing. The Esri PrintTool service provides a list of the available formats for printing maps. The default value is automatically selected.
• Width: This is how wide the map is when printed.
• Height: This is how tall the map is when printed.
• Export: Click to export the map with the selected settings.
• Advanced Options: This drop-down list contains additional options.
• Set Scale: This check box sets the extent being viewed as the extent to be printed.
• Author: The name of the person who exported/printed the map.
• Copyright: A date or legal message.
• DPI: This is the quality of the exported map.
• Output spatial reference: Enter the spatial reference.
• Include legend: This check box includes a legend on the exported map.
• Include north arrow: This check box includes the north arrow on the exported map.
