Create a Query Boundary

You can create a query boundary to only show query results within the boundary area on the map. Boundaries can only be applied to any queries you own and have X, Y values.

PREREQUISITES:

  • You must be the owner of a query to create a boundary associated to it. See Add a Query for more information.
  1. Open the map.
  2. Click Query Boundary Manager in the map toolbar.
  1. Using the selection tools, select an area on the map. You can also click Advanced and change boundary type and buffer size.

NOTE: If you select features on the map and use Create From Selection, a boundary area is created around the selected features. For example, if you select multiple parcels, a boundary area is added around the selected parcels. This can be helpful for features like facilities or parks where you want to create a query boundary.

  1. Enter a Name for the boundary.
  2. Select any queries the boundary area applies to from the Associated Queries drop-down list. You can only create boundaries on queries that you own.
  3. Click Add.

Any queries added to the boundary only appear within the boundary area you created and are applied to the query itself. See Modify a Query Boundary for more information on modifying the boundary, such as changing the boundary area or adding and removing associated queries.
