Associated Assets

You can view and edit associated asset details to fully manage the scope of a work activity directly from the field. This real-time management capability ensures that the activity accurately reflects the work being performed, allowing you to add or remove assets as conditions change without needing to recreate the activity or wait until you are back at a desktop.

You can view assets associated to a work activity.

  1. Tap a work activity.
  2. Tap Associated Assets.

Any assets associated with the work activity appear in the list.

NOTE: If an associated asset is unavailable in the currently active web map or offline map area, certain actions (e.g. Take Action, Map icon) are unavailable. Tapping the asset card displays an error message instead of opening the Asset Details page.

  • Outside of Currently Active Web Map: If the associated asset is not included in the current web map's available features, a message appears explaining the asset cannot be displayed because its corresponding GIS feature layer is not included in the currently active web map.
  • Offline Map Area: If the associated asset is not available in the offline area, a message appears explaining to sync or download the relevant map area to view the asset details.
  • Add icon: Tap to select and add an associated asset to the list from the map. This allows you to update the work scope instantly when new assets are identified in the field.
  • Multi Select: Tap to multi-select assets.
  • Select All: Tap to select all assets.
  • Zoom on Map: Tap to zoom to all selected assets on the map.
  • Remove: Tap to remove the selected assets. Removing asset records from a work activity breaks the link between the asset records and the work activity. It does not delete the physical assets from the map or the database. This feature enables you to correct errors at the source, ensuring data integrity by removing assets that were added by mistake or are no longer part of the current task.
  • Take Action: Tap to take action to progress the workflow.
  • Complete: Tap to complete the work activity for the associated asset.
  • Create Related Inspection: Tap to create a related inspection for the asset.
  • Create Related Work Order: Tap to create a related work order for the asset.
  • Create Related Service Request: Tap to create a related service request for the asset.
  • Map icon: Tap to view the associated asset on the map.
  • More icon: Tap to access more actions.
  • View Asset Details: Tap to view the asset details.
  • Directions: Tap to open driving directions to the associated asset.
  • Locate: Tap to open advanced locate for the associated asset.
  • Web: Tap to open the associated asset in the web application.
  • Remove: Tap to remove the associated asset from the work activity. Removing an asset record from a work activity breaks the link between the asset record and the work activity. It does not delete the physical asset from the map or the database.

The Asset Details page appears. Scroll to view all details.

  • Zoom: Tap to view the associated asset on the map.
  • Locate: Tap to open advanced locate for the associated asset.
  • Directions: Tap to get driving directions to the associated asset.
  • Web: Tap to open the associated asset in the web application.
  • Attachments: Tap to view the associated asset attachments.

  • Take Action: Tap to access more actions for the associated asset.
  • Edit: Tap to edit the associated asset details.
  • Complete: Tap to complete the work activity for the associated asset.
  • Create Related Inspection: Tap to create a related inspection.
  • Create Related WorkOrder: Tap to create a related work order.
  • Create Related Service Request: Tap to create a related service request for the asset.

NOTE: You can also access the Asset Details screen by tapping the More icon, then tapping View Asset Details.

You can view associated assets on the map.

Associated assets and related work activities appear as icons on the map that dynamically update as actions are taken, providing a clear visual representation of progress and remaining tasks. This streamlines workflows by allowing users to quickly identify and take action on related activities and associated assets directly from the map.

  1. Tap a work activity.
  2. Tap Associated Assets.
  3. Tap Zoom All to zoom to all associated assets or tap the Map icon to view a single associated asset.

The map zooms to the associated asset. The associated asset icon displays its status.

  • Asset Card: Tap the card to return to the associated asset details screen.
  • Take Action: Tap to take action on the associated asset.
  • Create Related Inspection: Tap to create a related inspection.
  • Create Related WorkOrder: Tap to create a related work order.
  • Create Related Service Request: Tap to create a related service request for the asset.
  • Map icon: Tap to zoom to the associated asset.
  • More icon: Tap to view more actions.
