Instrument Panel Fields
The following fields are found in the Add Instrument and Edit Instrument panels.
NOTE: Some fields have visible character max limits. The first number is the current count of how many characters have been used. The second number is the max characters allowed in the field.
- Instrument Type: Instrument types are methods of payment accepted by the organization, allowing users to keep track of how fees are paid.
- Serial Number: The serial number of the selected instrument.
- Issue Date: The date the instrument was issued.
- Amount: The total amount of the instrument, or the portion being applied to the case.
- Effective Date: The date the instrument became effective.
- Date Expired: The date the instrument expires.
- People: Select an individual associated to the case from the drop-down list. When you select someone from the list, the contact information automatically populates with that person's information. The People field appears on the Add Instrument panel.
NOTE: The drop-down list is populated by the People panel. See Add People or Remove a Person for more information on adding or removing people from the case.
- Company: This is the full name of the issuing agency.
- Name: This is the name of the person to contact at the issuing agency.
- Address: The address associated with the issuing agency.
- Address 2: An additional address associated with the issuing agency.
- City: The city where the address is located.
- State: The state the address is located in.
- Zip: The zip code of where the address is located.
NOTE: City, state, and country values may automatically populate when a zip code is entered if an administrator has configured the zip code in Admin.

- Country: The country where the address is located, such as United States or USA.
- Phone: The office or work phone number of the person to contact at the issuing agency.
- Email: The email address of the person to contact at the issuing agency.
- Comments: Additional information about the instrument.
- Instrument Release: Click to open the instrument release panel. See Instrument Release for more information. The Instrument Release section appears on the Edit Instrument panel.
