Use Comments on a Task

You can add, edit, remove, and add user mentions to existing comments on individual or multiple tasks from the Workflow panel or page. Task Manager allows you to configure comments for individual tasks.

NOTE:

  • If notifications are enabled, mentioning a user with @ in a comment triggers a notification.
  • Comments added to a case and/or task using Public Access can be edited in Respond if the user belongs to a security role that has the appropriate security function enabled. See Security Functions in the Admin Guide for Trimble Unity Maintain and Trimble Unity Permit for more information.
  1. Open a case and navigate to the Workflow panel, or click Workflow from the activity toolbar to open the Workflow page.
  2. Click Edit Task to the right of the task to open the Edit Task panel.

TIP: You can also click the comment icon to the right of the task name to add a new comment, or edit, remove, and add user mentions to existing comments. When the comment icon is grayed out, there are no comments associated to the task.

  1. Click Comments at the bottom of the Edit Task panel to open the Comments section.

From here you can edit, remove, and add user mentions to existing comments or click Add Comment to add a new comment.

You can add the same comment to multiple selected tasks at one time.

  1. Open a case and navigate to the Workflow panel, or click Workflow from the activity toolbar.
  2. Select multiple tasks.
  3. Click the Workflow sub menu and click Comments to open the Add Comment panel.

  1. Enter the comment and click Save All.

You can add, edit, remove, or format comments on a task by searching for tasks using Task Manager.

PREREQUISITES:

  • The first time you open Respond, you need to add any apps or pages you need or want to access. For example, use the Route menu option to add a menu item that navigates to the Asset Details, License Management tool, and other pages. See Add Menu Items and Edit Item Fields for more information.
  1. Open Task Manager and perform a search. See Search for Tasks for more information on performing a search.
  2. Click Comments by the task to open the comments section.

You can edit, remove, and add user mentions to existing comments or click Add Comment to add a new comment.
