Main Panel Fields
The following fields are found in the Main panel and Business Case section.
|

- Case Number: A numerical identifier used to track and search for the case. If no number is assigned to a case, the case errors out and prevents you from moving on until a unique case number is assigned.
NOTE: When creating a case type, the administrator has the option to automatically assign numbers. See Add a Case Type in the Admin Guide for Trimble Unity Maintain and Trimble Unity Permit for more information.
- Case Type: The main classification group for all cases. This field cannot be changed.
- Subtype: A further configuration of the case type. This field cannot be changed.
- Subtype Details: A free-form text field for further description about the subtype. The description may load automatically when a subtype is selected.
- Project Name: Select a project to associate the case to an actual project via OpX. In OpX, service requests, work orders, inspections, and cases can be tied together with a project.
- Project Code: Select a custom identifier used to group and link multiple cases into the same project. These projects are not related to projects in OpX. A project code is not required to create the case, but may help organize and track related cases.
- Tag: A free-form label for the activity this case is associated with. This is not a required item, but can be useful in tracking and organizing large projects that include many different cases.
- Assigned To: The login ID of the person to whom this case is assigned. This field can automatically populate if the administrator has configured the case template to be assigned to a specific user. The assigned user can be changed by selecting the user from the drop-down list.
- Initiated By: Displays the login ID of the user who created the case. This field cannot be changed.
- Date Initiated: Displays the date the case is created. This field cannot be changed.
- Accepted By: Displays the login ID of the person who accepts the case. It displays data entered on the Create New panel, or automatically populates with the current user when the case is saved.
- Date Accepted: The current date loads into this field automatically; however, the date may be changed by using the calendar icon.
- Priority: Not currently in use.
- Expiration Date: Displays the expiration date of the case. The date may be assigned automatically, depending on the template configuration.
- Status: The initial status varies, depending on the case type selected and how the case is configured by the administrator.
- Status Code: The internal code that automatically displays and is based on the case status.
- Reports: Reports associated to the case type appear in the drop-down list. See Print Reports for more information.
- Location: The geographic location or address. See Geocode a Location for more information.
NOTE: If the Location field on the Main panel is empty and a user adds a geolocated address in the Add Address panel, the Location field is populated on the Main panel when the case is saved.
- Geocode: The Geocode Results window allows you to select which address to use for the case and geocode it without opening the map.
- X, Y, Z: These fields automatically populate with the address coordinates you geocoded in the Location field. If there is an asset attached to the map from the Address panel, then the X, Y, Z fields automatically populate with the asset’s coordinates.
- Facility Id: This is the Facility Id for the building where the asset is located. This field automatically populates if an asset is attached to the work activity. If multiple assets are added to the work activity, the first asset with a Facility Id defined is used. This corresponds with the facility and level IDs set up for assets in the geodatabase. See Add an Asset Type in the Admin Guide for Trimble Unity Maintain and Trimble Unity Permit for more information.
- Level Id: This is the Level Id for the floor where the asset is located. This field automatically populates if an asset is attached to the work activity. If multiple assets are added to the work activity, the first asset with a Level Id defined is used. This corresponds with the facility and level IDs set up for assets in the geodatabase. See Add an Asset Type in the Admin Guide for Trimble Unity Maintain and Trimble Unity Permit for more information.
- Related: This shows the number of work activities related to the case you are viewing. See Open a Related Work Activity for more information.
- Attachments: This shows the number of files attached to the case you are viewing. Click to open the Attachments page. See Attachments for more information.
- Notifications History: This opens the Notifications Utility tool with the Case Number automatically populated, thereby limiting the search to notifications related to the current case. See Notifications Utility Tool for more information.
