You can complete a task from the Workflow panel.

1. Open a case and navigate to the Workflow panel.
2. Click the Result drop-down list and select a result for each task, such as if it is approved or should be resubmitted. The Result drop-down list is available on a task when all of the tasks in the preceding milestone are complete. The result codes available vary depending on the case type. When a result is selected, the Completed By and Completed Date fields automatically populate with the user’s login and the current date/time.

NOTE: If configured by the administrator, the task result type selected can automatically generate a work order, service request, and inspection. To create a service request from a task result, the case must have an X, Y value. See Configure Task Results in the Admin Guide for Trimble Unity Maintain and Trimble Unity Permit for more information.

IMPORTANT: A result can only be selected for individual tasks. A result cannot be selected for multiple tasks.

Depending on the selected result, the task is completed and the next task(s) is available, or the task may be reinserted into the workflow.

NOTE: Single tasks that are not approved can be reinserted directly after the unapproved task in the workflow. This can be done manually, or the administrator can configure the task to reinsert automatically when it does not pass. The administrator can configure the task to copy comments if the same task is automatically reinserted.

You can complete a task from the Edit Task panel.

1. Open a case and navigate to the Workflow panel.
2. Click Edit Task to the right of the task to open the Edit Task panel.

NOTE: From the Edit Task panel, you can also add and remove checklists, comments, time accounting, and related documents (attachments) associated to the task. See the Checklists, Comments, Time Accounting, and Attachments sections for more information.

3. Select the Task Result from the drop-down list.
4. Click Save. When the task is saved, the Completed By and Completed Date fields automatically populate with the user’s login and the current date/time. If a different user login or date/time is needed, those fields must be updated before saving the task result.

NOTE: If configured by the administrator, the task result type selected can automatically generate a work order, service request, and inspection. To create a service request from a task result, the case must have an X, Y value. Depending on the selected result, the task is completed and the next task is available, or the task may be reinserted into the workflow.

You can use Task Manager to complete tasks.

PREREQUISITES: The first time you open Respond, you need to add any apps or pages you need or want to access. For example, use the Route menu option to add a menu item that navigates to the Asset Details, License Management tool, and other pages. See Add Menu Items and Edit Item Fields for more information.

1. Open Task Manager and perform a search. See Search for Tasks for more information on performing a search.
2. Click Details below the task to reveal more fields.

3. Select a result from the Task Result drop-down list. The Completed By and Completed Date fields automatically populate with the user’s login and the current date. If a different user login or date is needed, those fields must be updated before selecting the task result.
